it is dark and the drink is good to eat is ok.
after a long day of skiing mr. baker we were hungry. we decided to visit another restaurant near, but it was closed (like several other restaurants in the environment (probably due to the fact that the school was closed and coronavirus.) we wanted to sit an evening meal and saw that the hc was opened, so it went there. was not really sure what to expect (usually we try yelp first and see what appears, but their were so many closures that it was something of a worthless exercise) so we ended at the horse hoe without knowing what to expect. the decoration is old time extension, with back and stand (as well as a 21 bar attached) looks dated, but our favorite has no eyes so that it didn't play a roll. we both ordered breakfast for dinner. I ordered the bun and wailed, my son ordered a meat eater omelet. the personal was friendly, eating came out quickly and eating was at the right temperature when it arrived. my son felt that his part was huge (and he liked to eat a lot so that something says) and I felt that my a good size was portion (a big baked chicken breast and a big belgium waffel.) hard to really screw up the breakfast, but fried chicken on the other side is not eating the breakfast. it was perfectly cooked, juicy and well seasoned. I would probably come back to the horse hoe next time in the city, probably try something else on the menu.
a friend recommended this restaurant. on the first look outside I was leary, but in its clean and well maintained. the staff was very friendly. the food was so good. my man is vegetarian and had some amazing options. it's a fat spoon, but nothing's fat. memorabilia is clean and tidy. we're coming back. win 4 out of 5 because nobody is perfect. we're coming back!
We stopped for breakfast and this was just what we were looking for good food, reasonable prices, and great location. And it is the oldest cafe in Washington State.
We went in and found a menu full of classic diner options including burgers, sandwiches and breakfast all day. They also have a full bar and a handful of beers on draft. The food was good and had generous portions. Service was friendly and attentive. Prices were par for the diner market prices.
We go to a lot of diners. I think that the food was pretty standard as well as the prices. My companion had the Mac and Cheese and said that was pretty good. I had to send my salad back because it had wilty lettuce which was pretty obvious and the sandwich was ok. Server was quick to replace it and super friendly throughout our meal. Points for location, friendly service, gritty diner ambiance. Overall, I'd eat there again, but I'd try something different on the menu.
